The Olympic 2012 Mascots have been unveiled!
Wenlock and Mandeville, encorporate icons such as london taxi lamps and olympic rings as bracelets. They also come with their very back story where they began life a molten steel from the last supporting pillar of the Olympic Stadium and were lovingly moulded into cute mascots.
Wenlock, named after the Shropshire village of Much Wenlock where the ‘Wenlock Games’ was one of the inspirations that led the founder of the modern Olympic movement Baron Pierre de Coubertin to create the Olympic Games.

Massive sign up for London 2012 tickets

Sports fans numbering high into the tens of thousands have registered their interest in attending the 2012 Olympics this morning after the ticketing strategy for the games was unveiled.
10,000 plus people signed up every hour, with more than 40,000 signed up by midday. The organising committee for the London Games urged fans to register their interest on a new website after this major interest. Signing up at www.tickets.london2012.com does not guarantee you a ticket but when the ballot opens next spring, it make give you a step ahead.

Sebastian Coe defends Winter Olympics from critics

Seb Coe has come to the defence of the Vancouver Winter Olympics following the surfeit of media criticism the Games have received.
Coe is in Canada along with London 2012 colleagues to see how Vancouver is coping with the challenge of hosting an Olympics. The Games have had a number of problems, which have caused some sections of the media to label them a failure.

Seb Coe carried the Olympic Flame

London 2012 Organising Committee Chair Seb Coe carried the Olympic Flame on the final day of the Vancouver 2012 Torch Relay.
Receiving the torch from the 38th Governor of California and Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Seb’s 500-metre journey began just after 0700 PST (1500 GMT) on 12th Feb.
